(3) In Pharmaceutical: Sorbitol E420 is used in bacterial culture media to distinguish the pathogenic Escherichia coli O157:H7 from most other strains of E. coli, .

 

(4) Sorbitol E420 is used in a wide range of products including aftershave lotions, baby shampoos and hair grooming aids in cosmetics and personal care products. Sorbitol is used in cosmetics and personal care products as a flavoring agent, and to prevent moisture loss.
